How to Bulk Upload Inventory Items/Batches with Custom Fields?

If you use custom fields in your inventory management, you can easily include them in your bulk upload or update process.

Here's how:

Step 1: Add Custom Fields to Your System

Before you can bulk upload or update data for custom fields, you must first add these custom fields to your system.

Ignore this step if you have already added custom fields in your system.

You can add custom fields for:

Option 1: While adding or editing an item, click on + Add Custom Fields at the bottom of the form:

Option 2: Go to Business Settings > Custom Fields, Tags & Labels > Inventory Management > Add Additional Field:

Option 1: While adding or editing a batch, click on + Add Custom Fields at the bottom of the form:

Option 2: Go to Business Settings > Custom Fields, Tags & Labels > Batches Custom Fields > Add Additional Field:

Option 1: While adjusting inventory, click on + Add Custom Fields at the bottom of the form:

Option 2: Go to Business Settings > Custom Fields, Tags & Labels > Inventory Transactions > Add Additional Field:

Once your custom fields are added, you’re ready to bulk upload or update your data.

2.1) Go to the bulk upload or update section for items, batches, or transactions:

2.2) Download the sample file provided:

2.3) Your custom fields will automatically appear as columns in the sample file at the end:

2.4) Fill in the sample file and upload:

Enter your inventory data in the sample file, including values for your custom fields in the relevant columns.
Save the file in the required format (usually CSV or Excel).
Upload your completed file on Refrens.
The system will process your data, including all custom field values.
