How to reverse journal entries?

Reversing entries instead of deleting them helps maintain a clear audit trail in your accounting records.


While journal entries cannot be deleted in Refrens, you can easily reverse them if needed.


Reversing a Single Journal Entry



You can reverse any journal entry directly from either the Voucher Book page or the Voucher Entry page.


From the Voucher Book Page:


  • Locate the journal entry you wish to reverse, go to "More" option, and click on the "Create Reverse Entry" option:

From the Voucher Entry Page:


  • Open the specific entry, and you’ll find the "Create Reverse Entry" button at the top right:


Reverse Journal Entries in Bulk


You can select multiple incorrect JVs from the Voucher Books and reverse them all at once with the "Bulk Reverse" option:


Once processing is complete, you'll also receive a detailed email showing whether all, some, or none of your selected JVs were reversed (along with reversal references and reasons for any failures).
