How to Show the Applied Exchange Rate on Your Documents?

When you create a document in a foreign currency, Refrens uses an exchange rate to calculate the amounts.

By default, the applied exchange rate is not shown to your clients on the shared document or PDF.

With Show Applied Exchange Rate, you can display the exchange rate directly on your document.

This makes it easier for your clients to understand how the foreign-currency amount was calculated.

For example:
1 USD = 95.911 INR

How to Show the Applied Exchange Rate

  1. Create or open a document in a foreign currency.
  2. Go to Advanced Settings.
  3. Find Show Applied Exchange Rate.
  4. Turn it ON.
  5. Save the document.

Once enabled, the exchange rate will be displayed in the totals section of the document.

It will be also shown:

  • On the shared document
  • On the downloaded PDF

Only the applied exchange rate is displayed. The total converted into your business currency is not shown to the client.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Which Documents Support This?

You can show the applied exchange rate on foreign-currency:

  • Invoices
  • Proforma Invoices
  • Quotations
  • Sales Orders
  • Purchase Orders
  • Credit Notes
  • Debit Notes
  • Delivery Challans
  • Payment Receipts
  • Payout Receipts
  • Purchases & Expenses

2. Does It Affect Existing Documents?

The setting is saved per document.

Turning it on for a new document does not change the appearance of documents that were already saved.

New documents inherit the setting from the previous document of the same type.

3. What if the Document Uses the Business Currency?

If the document is created in your business's own currency, there is no exchange rate to display.
