How to change the currency format, decimal points, currency symbol, and amount in words (Millions vs Lakhs)?

Refrens helps you completely customize your invoices & other accounting documents according to your business needs and local practices.

Let's see how you can change the currency format (Roman or Arabic, Millions or Lakhs), decimal points, currency symbol, and document amount in words (Millions vs Lakhs).

Firstly, while creating a document, go to the Number/Currency Format option as shown below:

You will see a pop-up form like below:

You will see three different options here:

Select Number Format

You can choose the number format according to the local practices of your country from here.

Just choose between Millions vs Lakhs, OR find a local country-specific format from the dropdown option.

The changes you make here will reflect both in Numbers and in Words in your documents:

Select Decimal Digits

Choose how you would like to round off your decimal digits from here.

By default, the Round-off configuration will apply only to the Total Amount, Discounts, and Additional Charges. Meaning, Quantity and Rate columns will be exempt from document-wise round-offs.

But in case you want to apply round-off to the Quantity or Rate column, you can do that by selecting "Apply Round-off to Quantity" OR "Apply Round-off to Rate".

Add Custom Currency Symbol

You can add a custom currency symbol like INR instead of ₹, USD instead of $, etc.

Once you are done, just hit “Save Changes” and you will be good to go!

You will only have to do this once, as these changes will automatically apply to your future accounting documents as well!  (You can change these formats later on by following the same process.)
