# How to add a PO (Purchase Order) number in Invoices and other documents?

Customers often issue a Purchase Order before confirming a sale.

Adding that PO Number to the invoice or related sales document helps both parties match the document with the original order and makes record-keeping easier.

You can add a customer’s PO Number using the dedicated **PO Number** field in Refrens.

Here's how:

### Step 1: Enable the PO Number Field

Firstly, go to: **Settings → Accounting → Enable “Display PO number on documents”:**

Once enabled, the PO Number field will appear in the document header while creating or editing supported sales documents.

### Step 2: Add the PO Number
###

While creating or editing an invoice, proforma invoice, quotation, or sales order:

Find the **PO Number** field near the document number > Enter the customer’s Purchase Order number > Save the document.

The PO Number will be saved with the document and displayed on its PDF.

You can also update the PO Number later by editing the document.

That’s it!
